    The Office Depot Foundation supports a variety of programs that give children tools to succeed in school and in life; build the capacity of nonprofit organizations through collaboration and innovation; and help communities prepare for disasters, as well as recovering and rebuilding afterwards.

    The foundation's priorities are:
    • Giving children tools to succeed in school and in life: Supporting activities that give young people tools to succeed in the school and in life through education and inspiration.
    • Building the capacity of nonprofit organizations through collaboration and innovation: Supporting programs that help non-profit organizations to serve the needs of their communities efficiently and effectively.
    • Helping communities prepare for disasters, as well as recovering and rebuilding afterwards: Supporting efforts that help people and communities prepare for disasters and then rebuild and recover when disasters occur.

    The foundation prefers to support programs rather than galas and similar events. The Foundation will NOT consider requests for:
    • Event sponsorship (including walk-a-thons)
    • Fashion Shows
    • Gift Certificates
    • Office Supplies or Printing
    • Deficit Financing
    • Religious organizations that do not serve the general public on a non-denominational basis
    • Travel Expenses
    • Project Graduation
    • Organizations whose chief purpose is to influence legislation or to participate or intervene in political campaigns on behalf of or against any candidate for public office
    • Political, labor or fraternal organizations.
    • Medical procedures for individuals.
    • Books, research papers or articles for professional journals
    • Organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion, national or ethnic origin or physical disability.

  • Eligibility Details

    The Office Depot Foundation will consider only organizations that can provide proof of qualifying non-profit status, including a tax-exempt determination letter from the Internal Revenue Service or proof of the organization's charitable purpose. If you are a 501(c)(3) organization, school or library, you may be eligible for a cash donation from the Office Depot Foundation.

    Deadline Details

    Applications are retrieved on a monthly basis during each grant cycle and are reviewed by a committee. Grants for relief, recovery, and rebuilding will be considered through the year.

    Award Details

    Grant amounts will be a minimum of $50 and a maximum of $3,000. The majority of grants issued are in the vicinity of $1,000 and are supported by in-kind donations when inventory allows.
