    The Sarkeys Foundation is a private, charitable foundation, incorporated under the laws of the State of Oklahoma and operated exclusively for providing support through gifts and grants to charitable, scientific, and educational institutions. Major areas of support by the Sarkeys Foundation include:

    • Education;
    • Social service and human service needs;
    • Cultural and humanitarian programs of regional significance.

    Other support is provided by:

    • The Sarkeys Meeting Room, available for use free of charge during regular work hours
    • A Resource Library located in the building adjacent to the Conference Center
    • A Resource Center for creating and printing signs, posters or other materials

    Needs normally outside the range of support by the Sarkeys Foundation:

    • Local programs appropriately financed within the community;
    • Direct mail solicitations and annual campaigns;
    • Out of state institutions;
    • Hospitals;
    • Operating expenses;
    • Purchase of vehicles;
    • Grants to individuals;
    • Responsibility for permanent financing of a program;
    • Programs whose ultimate intent is to be profit making;
    • Start-up funding for new organizations;
    • Feasibility studies;
    • Grants which trigger expenditure responsibility by Sarkeys Foundation;
    • Direct support to government agencies;
    • Individual public or private elementary or secondary schools, unless they are serving the needs of a special population which are not being met elsewhere; and
    • Religious institutions and their subsidiaries.

  • Eligibility Details

    Eligible applicants are organizations classified by the IRS as being a 501(c)(3) that is not a private foundation headquartered and offering services in Oklahoma. Preference is given to organizations that have been in operation at least three years.

    Deadline Details

    Organizations are required to submit a Letter of Inquiry to determine whether they meet the criteria and priorities for funding. 

    Spring Grant Cycle: Letters of Inquiry must be submitted by December 1, annually. Full applications must be submitted by February 1, annually. Spring grant recipients will be awarded money at the end of April.


    Summer Grant Cycle: Letters of Inquiry must be submitted by June 1, annually. Full applications must be submitted by August 2, 2020 grant deadline.


    The Letter of Inquiry and the grant application must be completed online. If any difficulties occur or questions arise, please contact the Foundation directly for assistance.

    In 2018 the Saekeys Foundation awarded $5,020,801 in grants.

    Organizations are limited to one application per calendar year or twelve month period.
