The foundation prioritizes investments that serve those with the greatest needs in Chester and Philadelphia Counties. The Foundation focuses its funding on the following areas: Arts and culture, Education, Health, and Human services. Funds will support general support and program development.


    Funds cannot be used to support political organizations. Grants will not be made directly to individuals and loans will not be made.

    The 1675 Foundation makes grants to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations well as public charities under IRS Code 509(a).

    Deadline Details

    Applications must be postmarked by October 1 for consideration at the December distribution meeting or by March 1 for consideration at the May distribution meeting.

    Award Details

    Award amounts vary. Grants range from $2,000 to $50,000 and are made twice a year at the discretion of the Trustees. Grants are made on an annual basis: organizations may apply only once within a twelve month period. Multi-year grants are awarded occasionally.
