    Summary

    APS provides funding to improve the quality of life for the residents of Arizona. APS has the following giving programs:
    • Community Giving - supports programs that improve the community. Emphasis is placed on the following areas:
      • Civic and Economic Development;
      • Human Services;
      • Environment;
      • Arts and Culture;
      • Non-STEM Education; and
      • Programs where employees serve as board members and volunteer. Through the matching gifts program, APS matches employee donations to qualified non-profit organizations.
    • Foundation - supports Arizona's youth and educational leaders focused on K-12 and college/university partnerships
    • STEM Mini-Grants - supports innovative teaching strategies to enhance student performance that address science, technology, engineering and/or mathematics. Grants cannot be requested for tablets, laptops, computers or projectors. Any equipment of reusable materials purchased through the grant become property of the school not the teacher.

    The APS Foundation does not provide support to:
    • Individuals;
    • Religious organizations, churches and programs that are purely denominational in purpose;
    • Private or family foundations;
    • Organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, national origin, marital status, age, sexual orientation, disability, or veteran status
    • Sports teams or sporting programs; 
    • Start-up organizations defined as a nonprofit whose ruling year has been granted by the IRS for less than three years;
    • For profit entities or organizations that are not an IRS 501(c)(3) charitable organization;
    • Fundraising events or sponsorships;
    • Individuals; or
    • Charter and private schools

    Funding under the STEM Mini-Grants will cannot be used for:
    • School and/or school district responsibilities (i.e. salaries, stipends, text books, etc.);
    • Food and/or refreshments;
    • Capital campaigns; or
    • Non-educational equipment such as office machines, computers, phones, cameras, etc.

    Community Grants - Eligible applicants are nonprofit organizations located within APS service territories.

    Foundation Grants - Eligible applicants are nonprofit organizations, including colleges and universities with various departments and outreach programs.

    STEM Mini-Grants - Eligible applicants are K-12 educators who teach in public and charter schools located in the APS service territory.

    For Community Grants deadlines, please contact APS at the information provided in the contact section of this posing.


    Foundation Grant applications must be submitted by March 1 and September 1, annually.


    For STEM Mini-Grants, applications are to be submitted by October 1, annually.
