Summary
As a kickstarter organization for yoga service projects of all types and sizes, The Give Back Yoga Foundation (GBYF) offers supply grants and funding to help certified teachers of all traditions to share yoga with under-served populations.
MONETARY GRANTS:
Support for projects that directly benefit under-served socioeconomic groups who might not otherwise experience the transformational practice of yoga. The foundation also strives to support individual projects of yoga teachers around the world.
The Give Back Yoga Foundation is interested in funding projects that:
Directly benefit under-served socio-economic groups of individuals who might not otherwise have the opportunity to experience the transformational potential and health giving benefits of yoga.
Have the potential to inspire and motivate the entire community towards greater awareness and compassion.
Occur in the broader community where the applicant resides.
Have the potential to continue beyond the grant period
Bring greater understanding of the practice of yoga to all involved.
MAT GRANTS
: Through the support of their service partner Gaiam, The Foundation is able to award mat grants to help certified teachers share yoga with under-served or under-resourced populations.
History of Funding
In 2012-2013, GBYF paid out $ 361,074 in grants and program-related investments to organizations and individuals in the United States and around the world.

Typically,
The Give Back Yoga Foundation will not approve grants that:
Are made by any individual or group without teaching experience.
Request funding for a project that has already been completed.
Do not benefit under-served communities in the general area where the applicant resides.
Seek payment for job, educational requirement or training.
FOR TEACHERS AND ADMINISTRATORS WORKING IN SCHOOLS: The allotment of mats available for under-resourced school districts has already been awarded for 2017. This includes all title one schools and mat grants for youth programs. Mat supplies are not available for individual use or events.

Eligible applicants are school teachers/administrators, yoga instructors, non-profit organizations.
Deadline Details
Applications for monetary grants are accepted throughout the year. Applications are reviewed on a quarterly basis. Applications for Mat Requests are accepted throughout the year. Applicants can expect a response within 10 business days.
Award Details
Award amounts vary. Cost sharing is not required. Actual cash paid out varies from year to year depending on payment schedules of larger grants.
