    Summary

    The Virginia Pre-Hospital Information Bridge (VPHIB) data collection program, in response to significant changes within the national Emergency Medical Services (EMS) dataset and technical requirements, will be moving from the current version 2 to the new Virginia version 3 (VAv3).

    Funding may be used for a broad range of items including, but not limited to:

    • hardware
    • software
    • licenses
    • support and services

    Priority will be given to those agencies that are being forced to move to Vav3 and have been caused financial hardship because of it.

    The Rescue Squad Assistance Fund (RSAF) is primarily a reimbursement grant that requires the grantee to make the purchase for the awarded item(s) and then submit an invoice for reimbursement.

    Funds will not be approved or disbursed for:

    • Leased equipment or vehicles
    • Equipment or vehicles secured by a lien
    • Guarantees or warranties
    • Used equipment or vehicles without prior approval
    • Fire suppression apparatus or law-enforcement equipment
